About the Founder, Constance
Once upon a time....
I was a mess. I was a closeted alcoholic with a great education and no life direction who was inching closer to suicide with every unhealthy relationship I allowed myself to be in.
Every person has their own definition of what it means to hit "rock bottom" and unfortunately, I found myself in that place. In my desperation, I decided to stop merely acting like a Christian and really get to know God and whom He created me to be. He loved me back to life and led me to start this blog to share the wisdom He gave me the grace to learn along the way. Keep reading for the mission of QM and a glimpse of my story!
Any single relationship we experience on any level has the power to change the course of our lives for better or worse. The current state of relationships in our world has sparked a hunt for the secret ingredient of what makes love last...
The secret to successful relationships are successful singles.
QueenlyMe focuses on empowering and equipping singles to maximize (and enjoy!) their single season through pursuing purpose, while also providing relationship wisdom that will prepare them for success in dating, relationships, and ultimately, marriage.
QM is all about "becoming"! Love and purpose are life-long pursuits. The process is the point. The journey to the throne makes a much greater impact than simply being crowned a queen.
We should instead strive to be "queen-ly" in our efforts of Learning Love & Pursuing Purpose, knowing that there will always be more wisdom to gain and higher levels to reach! QM prides itself on being a place that encourages and equips others to do just that!
I managed to graduate from grad school with a 4.0 GPA but had no handle whatsoever on my mental, emotional, or spiritual well-being…
In December of 2015, I found myself at THE lowest point in my life due to a series of bad decisions (which I’m not shy about sharing on this blog).
I found God (really, He found me and I finally chose to follow Him.)
He changed my life and led me to start this blog to share what He taught me about life, love, and relationships during that process.
I was reluctant to listen at first because I thought that I needed be perfect before I was able to offer any real value to others. But since then I’ve learned that the journey it takes to "become" says more about a person's character and is more inspiring than the titles we are able to hold once we "arrive.” (Spoiler Alert: We never "arrive")
That is why I began referring to myself as Queen- ly. It is a reminder that we are all just "becoming." And that journey is meant to be shared along the way.
We all want to be "great" but most of the time we just end up getting in our own way. That was precisely my problem. I was expecting my greatness to come from a fancy counseling career, but was completely blind to the fact that God already made me great, I just forgot to walk in it. And walking in that greatness doesn’t always have to look exactly like we expect it to.
During an especially dark time, I was thumbing through my Bible (searching for hope I guess) and I came across 1 Peter 2:9, which says:
But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for His own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of Him who called you out of the darkness into His marvelous light."
My soul clung to that verse as if it had finally found what it was looking for all of its life. I went for years and years feeling like an empty shell of who I was originally deemed to be. And I went even longer attempting to fill myself with what I thought everyone else expected me to be.
I am royalty. And so are you. The scripture calls us a royal priesthood. What do we call the Lord? "King" Jesus- the King of kings. And we were all made in His image, so doesn’t that make us little kings and queens as well? Then why do so many of God’s people walk around like lowly peasants - expecting to be constantly be disappointed and accepting less than we deserve?
So I’m on the journey to believing in my royalty and I would love for you to join me!
