3 Tips for Receiving Your Miracle This Month
If you are expecting a miracle this month your prayer life CANNOT be on life support. It actually needs to BE your life support.
Maintain a level of worship
We were created to worship. It's the way to enter God's presence. This is required for an effective prayer life. And the old saying is very true as well: "As praises go up, blessings come down!"
Worship consists of telling God how good He is (praise), thanking Him for all He has done (thanksgiving), and expressing love for Him and who He is (adoration). This is usually done through song, but make your worship personal between you and God. Use the gifts He has given you to worship Him. Sometimes I worship God by writing Him a letter or a poem.
Use prayer points
Write your faith! What are you believing God for? Make it big and be specific. These will be your prayer points that you use during your prayer time. If it's something within your ability to do and it doesn’t scare you, then it’s not big enough!
It's important to be consistent with your prayer points and declaring the things that you are believing God for, even if you don't see them manifest right away. He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him (Hebrews 11:6). The definition of diligent is to be constant in effort to accomplish something; persistent. Nothing you do goes unseen by God, so know that He is honoring your efforts.
Fasting adds supersonic power to your prayers! Fasting and prayer are most effective when used together (fasting without prayer is just a diet…ew).
If you aren’t familiar with fasting, I encourage you to google the different types of fasts and choose one that would suits you best. Don't forget to consult God on your fasting decisions as well because you will need His strength to endure it!
2. Watch your words!
Speak the Word
Some of the undesirable situations we experience are a result of the manifested words that came out of our own mouths! The words we speak are so powerful that as soon as they are released, the atmosphere shifts to accommodate them.
For example, if you are believing God for healing from a sickness, be careful not to say things that bring you into agreement with your sickness. Instead, speak words of health. For example, "By His stripes I am healed!" (Isaiah 53:5) and "my healing shall spring forth speedily" (Isaiah 58:5) or even "I shall live and not die!" (Psalm 118:17)
Speak as if your prayers have already come true! (Romans 4:17) In order to ensure that you aren't unintentionally word-cursing yourself and your blessings, the safest thing to do is to keep the Word of God on your mind and in your mouth.
Find a scripture that supports each prayer point that you are believing God for.
I strongly suggest getting "The Secret Power of Speaking God's Word" by Joyce Meyer. It's basically a miniature Bible except the scriptures are grouped by topic. So if you need healing scriptures, for example, they are all in one section!
There’s nothing that Jesus and His angel armies respond to more than scripture! Say these scriptures out loud during your prayer time (awkward, I know) and speak them in the present tense, believing that your miracle is already done! (For example, My student loan debt is cancelled and I am experiencing overflow and abundance! Whew! That one is for ME!)
Find a good Bible app
Most Bible apps have Reading Plans that choose passages for you to read every day. You are also able to search scriptures by topic and choose the translation you like best.
3. Protect your environment
As best you can, maintain an atmosphere that promotes positivity. Our environment typically shapes our train of thought and our perspective of life, which greatly affects our level of faith. Your miracle will depend on how strong your ability is to believe that the miracles you stand in need of can and will actually happen for you.
Make room for your miracle by making sure that your environment provides a suitable place to house it. Commit to only engaging positive stimuli during this month. Who knows maybe it will carry over into the new year!
Be careful what you watch (movies, shows, on social media)
Be careful what you listen to (music, certain conversations)
Be careful about the people you choose to keep close to you (surround yourself with people who will agree with you in faith, not believe against it. Matthew 18:20)
Be a good steward over what you already have (your health, your home, your family, your job, your possessions, your finances). Show God that He can trust you with more by taking care of what you have now (Luke 16:10).
