10 Scriptures for a Bad Day

Updated: Mar 8, 2019

I don’t know about you, but I’ve had plenty of days when I was about 80% sure that I would either end up under the covers drowning in tears or in jail for snapping on someone. If you can relate to that statement then you’re in the right place! Welcome! Haha! Hey, it’s all you can do just to get through the day sometimes, and I completely get that. But I want to provide you with something that will not only help you get through the day, but to dominate your day with an air of excellence and a smile from our heart! Even when there are crap storms raging around you.

Scripture is not only for learning about the will and ways of God, but it was also meant to guide us in prayer as well. Every Word that God speaks (be it through Jesus or any of the authors of the books of the Bible) is a promise to us and, when spoken by us, cannot return back to God void, or without causing a change or shift (Isaiah 55:11). The Bible says that God is not a God that should lie (Numbers 23:19) and that He swears to us on the basis of His own name, being the highest being that there is (Hebrews 6:13). This means that He absolutely has to make good on these promises! The most effective prayers that we can pray are the ones that include scripture and remind God of the very promises He has made to us. So honey, if you’re looking to get a prayer through then let’s go!

  1. And we know that all things work together for the good of those who love the Lord and are called according to His purpose- Romans 8:28

  2. The Lord will help you defeat the enemies that come to fight you. They will attack you from one direction and flee from you in seven directions- Deuteronomy 28:7

  3. …You will lend to other nations, but you will not need to borrow from them. The Lord will make you like the head and not the tail; you will be on top and not on bottom. But you must obey the commands of the Lord your God- Deuteronomy 28:12-13

  4. I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me- Philippians 4:13

  5. Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I fear no evil, for you are with me; Your rid and Your staff, they comfort me- Psalm 23:4

  6. If God be for us, then who can be against us? No, in all things we are more than conquerors through Christ Jesus- Romans 8: 31& 37

  7. Greater is He within me than he that is in the world- 1John 4:4

  8. No weapon formed against me shall prosper- Isaiah 54: 17

  9. Eyes have not seen, ears have not heard, and it has not entered into the hearts of man all that God has prepared for them that love Him- 1 Corinthians 2:9

  10. God shall supply all of my needs according to His glorious riches in Christ Jesus- Philippians 4:19

Pray this:

“Lord, I’m handing ________ over to you today and believing you to _________. For it says in Your word that *insert scripture*.”

“Lord, I’m struggling with _________ today. Please make good on the promises of your word that says *insert scripture*.”

Pray these scriptures with confidence and receive what they say! Actually believe them in spite of what you can see as your current reality. Make them personal: add yourself or situation into the scripture, get specific! Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours! - Mark 11:24
